Thrift shop Cavafy

Early yesterday afternoon:

 

“What are you working on.”

“I’m writing on Cavafy.”

“Cavafy?”

“Yes.”

“The poet?”

“Yes.”

“Come with me! Now!”

 

And I followed him to Goodwill, where he showed me this poster he had noticed earlier last week.

Chance? “Or perhaps it was that Fate / was something of an artist …”
